Kids safety tips in the home and out and about
Presented by Christine Erskine, Kidsafe
Kids safety takes careful thought as injuries can happen in the blink of an eye! The main focus areas of Kidsafe and this Parenting Insights session are child safety in and around the home, water safety, playground safety and road safety.
Christine Erskine from Kidsafe NSW talks about common injuries within the home and shares practical tips on kids safety: drowning, car injuries, falls from high places such as balcony windows and bunk beds, burns and scalds, poisoning, choking, dog bites and entrapments.
Kidsafe actively campaign within the community on the correct use of child restraints for children to at least 7 years; preventing children falling from windows and balconies; raising awareness about potential damage to children who swallow button batteries and creating safe, fun and challenging play areas.
Kidsafe provides practical suggestions, guidance and support, to parents, grandparents, carers and anyone involved in keeping kids safe. Kidsafe aims to make a safer world for kids!
